San Carlos Eucalyptus Holiday Lights
December 24, 2010
Well, to many of us, this isn’t any surprise. All the 6 houses for BEST OF LIGHTS is on Eucalyptus in San Carlos. The street is blocked off and the street is only one way during this time. Lots of people and children walking around, please be careful. A great walk…..with great folks and great lights. This is a great street to park your car somewhere and just walk, enjoy the lights, the children and holiday.

Sequoia Update on New Gymansium
July 20, 2010
I was at Sequoia, viewing the new gymansium that is being built. Construction started in Janurary.
The new gym will feature a tournament basketball court, a tournament volleyball court, two practice basketball courts and 16 badminton courts as well as dressing rooms and an area for food concessions and booster sales.
The new facility has been designed to qualify for certification as a LEED Gold Building, one of the highest nationally recognized sustainability standards for green design.
Saving more than 50 percent of the baseline energy costs of current California energy standards, the new building will be constructed with wood products from renewable forests, a high-efficiency HVAC system supplemented with natural ventilation, and a groundwater system that utilizes redirected storm water. Wherever possible, rapidly renewable or recycled materials will be chosen over conventional alternatives.
A prominent skylight – running the full length of the main gymnasium – will flood the main space with indirect natural light during the day, resulting in a significant reduction in energy consumption year-round. The entire sloped roofing system will be lined with a direct-applied photovoltaic film that will generate over 50 percent of the energy consumed by the building.
The project also includes two athletic plazas, a 200-square-foot ticket kiosk, and a new front entrance onto James Avenue. The school’s two existing gyms will also be refurbished as part of the project.
Cody Anderson Wasney Architects, Palo Alto, is the architectural firm spearheading the project, and W. L. Butler Construction, Inc., Redwood City, is the general contractor. Awesome!

City staff also met with City arborist to receive recommendations on tree protection. The Notice to Proceed will be issued on July 27th. Contract construction time will begin on August 3rd with contractor mobilization which shall include providing temporary power, storage equipment, fence installation and erosion control measures. Contract construction time is 260 working days.
Redwood Shores Great Lights!!!
December 25, 2009
I have been watching this beautiful home with their decorating. This really makes Redwood City really proud to be included with Redwood Shores. You have to drive by this one!
Award winning each year here in Redwood Shores (Redwood City). This year our theme is “The Christmas forest” and we feature a 16ft tall tree containing over 5000 LEDs in 3 colors (Red, White, Green). Its fully animated to 15 songs and is roped off by hand made sleigh rails also wrapped in lights and garland. This year we added “leaping arches” to the front of the yard that are also in sync to the songs. The tree also sprays snow from the integrated snow machine the week before Christmas. We broadcast our show 7 days a week on 89.5FM and also play it outloud on the weekends.
Shows run M-Th 5pm – 11pm and Fr-Su 5pm – Midnight.
Candy canes always available!
