Hiller Aviation Museum and Institute

July 26, 2009

This is One of my Favorite Places. Maybe, because I used to fly in the old days.

The Hiller Aviation Institute & Museum was founded by helicopter pioneer Stanley Hiller Jr. in June 1998.

The institute was conceived in the early ‘70s on the premise that objective presentation of history, with all its linkages and drivers, would be a logical foundation which to construct a vision of future global science and aviation. Silicon Valley is an ideal location for an institution where science and aviation problems and solutions can be explored, evaluated, taught and communicated to the public and corporate audiences. Concentrated in this area are the talents, sciences, the progressive attitudes and capital resources needed to develop science and aviation in the 21st Century.

To accomplish these goals, the institute’s Board of Directors built a composite structure comprising the Hiller Aviation Museum and the education and research center.

I had the opportunity to go and visit the museum and I was pleasantly surprised when I found one of the pilots that was in the cockpit was someone I flew with in my “last” life. What a treat! Please take the kids, and yourselves of course, it is a great place. I am thinking of a client party there. I think that would be great. What do you think?

TUTANKHAMUN

July 1, 2009

In my previous life, I used to fly for TWA and was privileged to see the tomb and history in his real resting place. I would like to offer the first 20 people that respond, free tickets to see this. It is an event in history. If you are a history buff, this is your chance.

The History Museum in Redwood City is having an interactive exhibit on the Mavericks. Very fun, you can check out the 40′ wave, watch videos, and experience the thrill of a wave on the Waverrider. Very inexpensive, only $4 for Adults and $2 for Seniors or Students. The Museum is located at 2200 Broadway in Redwood City.
