Afternoon Tea at Filoli

February 18, 2010

One of my most favorite experiences is being at Filoli. This time of year is especially welcome with all the bulbs coming up and the coming of Spring. What a great time to hike the trails, have lunch or enjoy the tea. This is a yearly tradition at Filoli. Enjoy delicious sandwiches, seasonal salads, scones with fresh lemon curd and pastries presented on linen tablecloths. Tea is served in our beautiful collection of china teacups, donated through the years by Filoli members and volunteers.

Art Exhibit at Filoli

This popular Filoli tradition is perfect for meeting friends or small group events. Afternoon Tea takes place the fourth Wednesday of each month, February through October.* Seating is limited. Reservations are required.

Filoli Flower Show

Filoli Flower Show

Join me at Filoli this year for this year’s Filoli Flower Show, where beautiful floral arrangements and magnificent table settings complement the splendor of the Filoli House and Gardens. For those of us who like to decorate and entertain this is really something to see.

The Show begins on Thursday evening, May 7, with the Opening Night Reception. Guests are invited to stroll the Gardens at twilight, view the floral arrangements, interact with the designers, and enjoy musical entertainment while wine and hors d’oeuvres are served.

From Friday through Sunday, Filoli’s wonderful greenhouse will be open for touring. Flower chats will be held each day at 1:30 pm on the Dining Room Terrace. Musical entertainment will take place in the House and on the Tennis Court.

The Flower Show showcases Filoli at its very best and has become an anticipated event. Celebrating Mother’s Day weekend at Filoli with a special tea, boxed lunch, or Mother’s Day champagne brunch is a wonderful way to show your mother that she is special and very much appreciated. The Mother’s Day brunch has become a family tradition for many in the Bay Area. We look forward to having you join us for this special event.

Please note: Thursday, May 7 the House will be closed to visitors in preparation for the Filoli Flower Show. General admission to the Garden only will be $5 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm with the last admission at 2:30 pm.

Holiday Traditions at Filoli

November 16, 2008

Friday, November 28 through Saturday, December 6
Come experience the excitement of Filoli’s spectacular nine-day Holiday Traditions event. This year’s theme, The Holly and the Ivy, symbolizing the warmth and goodwill of the season, is reflected in the festive decorations of the House and Garden. Relax in Filoli’s charming setting while enjoying lunch or supper. The Evening Dinner Party is an elegant dining event with live music and dancing in the ballroom. Enjoy the magical warmth of the Holiday Traditions.

I have been a member here for quite a few years. It is such a breath taking beautiful place and especially at this time of year. If you haven’t been to Filoli before, now would be a great time to visit. Enjoy dinner, dancing, strolling and listening to the music or shop till you drop!
