America’s Most Expensive Home Sold by CB

January 12, 2011

I couldn’t resist sharing this home from Coldwell Banker‘s Previews International. Now this is what I call a home!!! You would need a small city to live in it. Looks fabulous however….. let’s keep dreaming.

Bel Air’s Le Belvedere, a sprawling palace in Bel Air, which sold on June 4 to an unidentified European family for as much as $72 million — was represented by two Coldwell Banker Previews International Agents.

Stacey Gottula and Joyce Rey, of Coldwell Banker Previews International, who handled the sale, are keeping the final cost under wraps, but claim that the home sets a price record for 2010. That would mean it sold for at least the $47 million that Colorado’s BootJack ranch fetched in late April–and as much as the $72 million sale price made public earlier this year. According to Gottula and Rey, Le Belvedere is also one of the largest sales ever handled by a broker–many sales this large are closed-door transactions.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is by far the luxury home market leader, representing the majority of luxury homes sold in our market each year.

San Carlos Up-Coming Storm

December 15, 2010

The city of San Carlos has posted this for the upcoming storm. If anyone needs help getting the sand bags, please let me know and I will arrange getting them for you. Very important for our seniors in our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a heavy storm warning for Friday and this weekend for the San Francisco Bay AreaThe City is making sand, sandbags and a shovel available starting today for San Carlos residents and merchants. There is a limit of ten (10) bags per residence/ business.

The Sand and Sandbag distribution point in San Carlos is the open parking lot at the San Carlos Corporation Yard at 1000 Bransten Road.  This area will be open on a 24 hours a day basis, 7 days a week.

Questions can be directed to the General Services Department at (650) 802-4140  or  Public Works Department (650) 802-4204 during business hours.  After hours emergencies should be reported to Police Dispatch at (650) 802-4321.

If your property has a history of flooding or standing water each year (such as water building up at the garage or back patio for example), you are encouraged to get sandbags in advance of the rainy season and have them on hand throughout the winter.

In addition, the Public Works Department is checking catch basins and City crews have been assigned to storm duty to check the creeks and hot spots.

History of the Lake in Emerald Hills

July 13, 2010

Emerald Lake was incorporated September 17, 1920, as a not for profit athletic, recreational and social facility. On August 25, 1926, the Anglo-California Trust Company of San Francisco deeded the property to the Emerald Lake Country Club for the sum of $10, with the following conditions: no building of any bar rooms, livery stables, undertaking establishments or blacksmith shops.

The lake began as a watering hole for cattle and for the stage coach horses that traveled between Pescadero and Redwood City in the late 19th century. The lake was later improved as a recreational facility for owners and renters of cabins in the area who came to escape the summer fog in San Francisco.

The water that fills the lake comes from several seasonal creeks. The lake itself is about 1.75 acres.
