Redwood City July 4th Parade

July 3, 2010

Our annual Fourth of July Parade in downtown Redwood City attracts thousands of spectators. Most of the budget for the Parade is used for cash awards to participants, of which many winners are from Redwood City.

We are proud that the members of our organization have operated the Peninsula Celebration Association since 1939 as a true volunteer group. Our goal is to help make our city not just a place to live, but a real community of people who care!!

This is a great event, parade starts at 10 AM and the festival starts at 9AM. Happy 4th!

Memorial Day Music at the Alpine Inn, Historical Beer Garden

May 31, 2010

I went over to hear the music from a few bands at the Alpine Inn to welcome in the beginning of summer, or so we think!!! One of my friends, Bill Collins was joining the band with his harmonica. He is really good and enjoys playing with them. With the beautiful weather we are having this is a great weekend to go over there and enjoy the weather, friends and a beer or hamburger! Tell Geri and Molly “Hi” from me.

Happy Memorial Day!

Hometown Days in San Carlos

May 21, 2010

Today was the first day of the Hometown Days, or should I say evening. A bit brisk, but out opening act was this group. Very cute, but even more so, was watching all the parent’s taking pictures of their cherubs… Remember those days well! Saturday and Sunday will be fun days. Pancakes start the day tomorrow. Enjoy! See you there. I will be walking around selling tickets from 2-4. Hope to see you there. Juicy hamburgers and hot-dogs served this year by the Kiwanis.
