Redwood City
A few of the reasons that I love Redwood City, is for one, it is where I bought my first home on Connecticut Street. I love Redwood City’s diversification of places and people, from the bay with the port, to the hills with the lake.
You have the area of Redwood Shores that has a waterfront neighborhood with newer homes and condos. Redwood Shores is home to Oracle, Electronic Arts and the Sandpiper School. Here is a website that provides a wonderful history of Redwood Shores.

Redwood City also has a port for cargo ships, there are also some fine restaurants on the waterfront. When you are in this area, you can also see the salt flats. The salt flats encompass a large area and the debate is on whether to build more homes, etc… If you would like more information on the salt flats, visit the area owner’s website. There is a lot of history in this area.
In the other direction, is Emerald Hills, an incorporated area of Redwood City, a lot of the homes in this area have views of the bay. Emerald Hills is more woodsy and hilly with areas that are more secluded and private. Emerald Hills has excellent schools, a golf course, club house and it’s own lake. Emerald Lake is a pristine, fresh water lake that is dedicated for the recreational enjoyment of their lake member families.
