Shore Dogs Park Redwood Shores
February 3, 2011
This is a great park… especially since you don’t have to have a leash to have your dog there. Shore Dogs Park is a completely fenced “off leash” dog park with a double-gated entrance to an area for large dogs and another area for small dogs. Benches, drinking water for dogs and doggie waste bags and dispensers are available. Shore Dogs is open for use from dawn until dark. During the rainy season, however, be advised that the park is subject to closure without prior notice at the discretion of the Park and Recreation Department and the Shore Dogs Board.
For information on closure due to rain call 650-654-6538.
Shore Dogs is located near the end of Radio Road in Redwood Shores, California, near a corner of San Francisco Bay, where during the spring and fall migration season, you can watch the shore birds.

History of the Lake in Emerald Hills
July 13, 2010
Emerald Lake was incorporated September 17, 1920, as a not for profit athletic, recreational and social facility. On August 25, 1926, the Anglo-California Trust Company of San Francisco deeded the property to the Emerald Lake Country Club for the sum of $10, with the following conditions: no building of any bar rooms, livery stables, undertaking establishments or blacksmith shops.
The lake began as a watering hole for cattle and for the stage coach horses that traveled between Pescadero and Redwood City in the late 19th century. The lake was later improved as a recreational facility for owners and renters of cabins in the area who came to escape the summer fog in San Francisco.
The water that fills the lake comes from several seasonal creeks. The lake itself is about 1.75 acres.

4th of July Foster City
July 3, 2010
Since most cities are not having fireworks this year, I thought sharing about Foster City would be good. Fireworks start promptly at 9:30, but there is a whole day of events planned starting at 8:00 AM. Enjoy and Happy 4th!
The Fireworks show is provided by Pyro Spectaculars and is scheduled to go off at 9:30pm sharp. The firing line site for the July 4th Pyrotechnic Show is located at the West end of Leo Ryan Park. This location best accommodates the prevailing winds at this time of year. The firing line site can be a dangerous area and will be fenced off.
