Just in time for the Holidays

Auke Rec, Auke Bay Alaska

Image via Wikipedia

This is one of the best creative Holiday projects that was done in Alaska. Done like you’ve never seen before. This video from the small Yupiq Eskimo Village of Quinhagak, Alaska , was a school computer project intended for the other Yupiq villages in the area. Much to the villagers’ shock, over a half million people have viewed it. For your turn to view, Click:  Http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=LyviyF-N23A

Best Haunted House

October 30, 2011

Check out this line from Youtube for this Halloween House.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUAV_1jBJB4

This is an amazing, dazzling light show that will boggle your mind. Similar to what you would see at Christmas, this guy in Riverside, CA used thousands of lights to create four singing pumpkin faces, light-up tombstones, light-up hand-carved pumpkins and strobe lights in the project. All of these were programmed to complement each song. Kevin J., the 39-year-old mastermind behind this extravaganza said it took 15 hours of work for each minute of music. This is his fourth year of doing Halloween shows; this one being his project for last year.

My neighbors Keith and MaryJo Hoffman used to do this as well. However, our neighborhood will miss the light show since they moved down to So. Cal….

Oktoberfest in Redwood City yesterday.

October 16, 2011

Yesterday at the Redwood CityOktoberfest” was a complete blast. The one thing that was especially fun was watching all the children dance the day away. Boy, if I could bottle up the constant energy. It was so much fun. I meet some friends there and I ended up spending most of the day just dancing and watching all the people. This was a great event for Redwood City. The band was stupendous!

The band was the Internationals, they have played for more than 30 years. They played all national music. The dancers from the Bavarian Club were outstanding.

For more information on the band visit the Internationals website.

Super Diamond is here at the Fox!

Neil Diamond

Image via Wikipedia

I love Neil Diamond, probably because he was on my flight with TWA in the olden days. He was sitting in first class and un-be-know to me, he was/is an artist and painting a profile picture of me. He left it with me when he left the plane. Now, where in the world is that?

When your parents popped in a Neil Diamond tape on repeat during long interstate road trips, you reluctantly sang along. Never thought you’d turn out to be a Diamond fan now, right? But singing along to “Sweet Caroline” and “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show” is so addictive now, you’d do anything to see Neil on stage. A band out of San Francisco can put a rest to that Diamond thirst. Super Diamond delivers a high-octane Diamond tribute show that rocks!

Another Great Event at the Fox in Redwood City

August 3, 2011

Great venue at the Fox in Redwood City. Please come and have a great rockin time with Montrose with Michael Lee Firkins and Ol’Cheeky Bastards. Montrose, the rock and roll legend has returned full force, playing the tunes that rocked a nation with heart-thumping, foot-stomping, fist-pumping energy.
Opening Act
Michael Lee Firkins
Michael’s current release “Blacklight Sonatas” features Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta) on Drums, Kai Eckhardt on Bass.

Ol’ Cheeky Bastards
First generation punk-rocker Dave Dalton got bored and pissed off with the whole modern punk scene, and started busking “bastardized” Pogues tunes with bagpiper Sean Cummings.
