Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to Me….

January 28, 2010

Hi All,

Thank you for all your good wishes. It seems like the years go back far more quickly than before. With a couple friends and my Mom, we will see a movie in the afternoon. Mom is still recovering from oral surgery. Then off to dinner with all and soup for Mom. I am taking this moment to thank all of you for being in my life. You are all very special to me. Thanks for sharing my birthday with me.

Gee, Subway Robbery??? Anyone Saw Anything?

January 27, 2010

Hard to believe that last night, Belmont PD officers were called to Subway Sandwiches at 1602 El Camino Real on the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.  Though this investigation is ongoing, the following is known at this time:

Two men, both about 5′7″ tall with medium builds, wearing dark blue or black hooded sweatshirts, dark masks and dark colored pants robbed the sandwich shop, taking money from the cash register.  A female customer inside the shop was also robbed of her purse.  One of the men was armed with a silver revolver, and both fled the area on foot.

Officers scoured the area and passed along critical suspect information to surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Belmont PD investigators at

(650) 595-7400.

Historical Home Sells Bourne Mansion

January 23, 2010

Bourne SF MansionThose who are familiar with the Bourne Family from Filoli will miss this historical home in San Francisco (2550 Webster Street) which was sold at auction and closed December 23, 2009 for $2.79 million. Sure looks like the Disneyland Haunted Mansion doesn’t it.

The Road To The Alpine Inn, My Favorite Historical Place

My favorite place of all is to relax and meet friends at the Alpine Inn, formerly called Rissotti’s or “Zott’s”…

Of course, I am partial since my dear friend and my other dear Mother own the place. But, if you just want a beer/wine/soft drink it is a great place to just be yourself and hang-out. If you want a great burger, chicken or other this is the place. The fries are great too! This is why this place is on my main page as one of the historical homes that I love. You can  just imagine as you drive up, the horses that used to come and tie up there… I have met many wonderful people there.

As of 2009, Zotts has enjoyed 150 years as Portola Valley’s hotspot…

A lot of history has passed through here… Zott’s is unique, it is the only Beergarden that has stayed one since it’s existence.

WASHINGTON - MAY 08: Cancer survivor and seve...
Image by Getty Images via Daylife

First of all, I want to wish everyone a very prosperous and abundant 2010! Be true to your self, your family, your belief’s and such…. Maybe, we need to be focused on all of us and slow down. We need to respect one another and give one another our attention. Life is so short for us not to show up….and we don’t know that until we are there. Take if from me, a CANCER survivor. We get so busy with life and all our problems that we stop taking care of us. And, that rubs off of all our family and work members. Remember to be kind!

If any of you have any items/houses/health-care/or any issues that you need addressed, please feel free to let me know. If I don’t know the answer, I do have a connection of people that do.

All the best to you and your families and friends in 2010!!!

San Carlos Trail

January 3, 2010

Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve Trail
Pulgas trail
One of my New Year’s resolutioins is to start walking more and enjoy the beautiful environment that we live in.

This 293-acre Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve is located near the intersection of I-280 and Edgewood Road, just outside of San Carlos.
Plants and Animals: Mixed woodland Oaks and Laurel trees cover much of the Preserve, while the hilltop is a mix of grasses and remnant non-native plants such as oleander, eucalyptus and cactus.

On clear days you can see views of San Francisco Bay, the southern peninsula and south bay cities, and the peaks of Mount Diablo and Mount Hamilton. This is one of a few Open Space Preserves to allow dogs. Bicycles and equestrians are permitted on the Cordilleras and Hassler Trails. The Hetch-Hetchy aqueduct passes through the Preserve in an underground tunnel.

Polly Geraci Trail (hiking only) winds along the Cordilleras streambed and meets the paved Hassler Trail on the 650 foot hilltop. The Blue Oak Trail begins just past the private Redwood Center and climbs through oaks to meet the paved trail around the 450 foot elevation. Constructing a loop of the Cordilleras, Polly Geraci, Hassler and Blue Oak Trails constitutes about 3 miles.

Exit I-280 at Edgewood Road and turn east, towards San Carlos. At Crestview, turn left, and another quick left turn at Edmonds Rd. You’ll see the Cordilleras trailhead just to the right of the entrance to the private Redwood Center on the right hand side of the road. A little further, you’ll find a roadside pullout on your left and the Blue Oak trailhead on your right.
