Green, Get Rid of Old Drugs
October 21, 2009
When my Father died, way back when… all I did was throw out all his medications down the drain. I cringe whenever I think of that now. When my Step-Father died, I did the same thing.
Today we now know how harmful that is. Can you imagine what our kids will be exposed to. Please check out this link for disposing medications. Let’s stay Green!

The evening before they are having a neighborhood barbecue in the parking lot from 6-8. They expect it to be packed. I am told the inside is like Disneyland. See you there!

It’s a hard disk in 1956… a hard disk drive with 5 MB storage.
In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first computer with a hard disk drive. The HDD weighed over a ton and stored a total 5 MB of data.
Time to appreciate your one ounce 8 GB memory stick which has 1600 times the capacity of this monster!
Breast Cancer Month and Awareness!
October 15, 2009
Being a breast cancer survivor myself, I really would like to tell all woman to be really vigilant of checking themselves. I was 32 when I was diagnosed, way before the 40 year mark where it is recommended. I think a baseline mammogram should be done at 30, so you have that as a background to refer too. And, then maybe 35 or 40. I was fit and healthy when I was diagnosed. Please take the time to tell your wives, significant others and yourselves to keep checking themselves. You never know when it will strike. I am still here today! Yeah! Problems, yes we all have problems, but I am ALIVE! I can still see my daughter grow into a beautiful lady that she is….

The first meeting of the PWG is scheduled for October 15, 2009.
The PWG is scheduled to meet several times over the next 6 to 8 months to provide input on the environmental and engineering studies currently underway as part of the project level Environmental Impact rfeport (EIR) for the proposed California High Speed Rail project. Weather Watch
October 12, 2009
For all my friends out there. The National Weather Service in San Francisco Bay Area has issued a high wind warning which is in effect from 2 am Monday to 11 pm pdt Tuesday.
Southerly winds will increase ahead of this storm system by this evening with wind speeds increasing to 25 to 40 mph by early Tuesday morning. Gusts to 60 mph are possible in the lower elevations with gusts to 70 mph possible in the mountains. Strong & gusty winds are expected to continue through the day Tuesday & begin tapering off by midnight Tuesday night.
Precautionary/preparedness actions. A high wind warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Winds of this magnitude can easily topple trees and power lines & lead to power outages. Driving could be difficult for motorists with high profile vehicles or trailers. In addition 1 to 3 inches of rain is forecast over a 24 to 30 hour period beginning this afternoon for the low lying areas and 4 to 6 inches of rain is expected in the higher elevations over the that period. – Report given by Bill O’ Callahan
Science and Color (Just had to share)

Beau Lotto’s color games puzzle your vision, but they also spotlight what you can’t normally see: how your brain works. This fun, first-hand look at your own versatile sense of sight reveals how evolution tints your perception of what’s really out there. This is really good and I wanted to share this with you. It takes about 17 minutes, so allow the time you need to see this.
