Belmont Police Going Twitter

October 19, 2009

The Belmont Police Department will host the 2009 Community Forum on Thursday 10/22/09 at 6:00pm.  All are welcome, and those who cannot attend are encouraged to watch locally on PenTV Channel 27.  For the first time, viewers at home will be invited to send in questions and comments real-time via Twitter at www.twitter.com/belmontcapolice and have them addressed live by Belmont PD staff.

Citizens are encouraged to register free of charge at www.twitter.com and follow the Belmont Police Department.  The networking site is now being used to distribute up to date information to our community regarding events, traffic detours, safety tips, crimes, wanted persons and much more.  Daily Media Bulletins and Press Releases will soon be posted on the City website www.belmont.gov and linked via Twitter as well.

The 2009 Community Forum will include an address by Police Chief Don Mattei, as well as presentations on current events, crime trends and traffic safety.  All are welcome to come and learn more about your community and your Police Department.  Refreshments will follow.
