Prior to coming to the West Coast, Sharpe started to play the trombone at the age of 15, studied broadcasting at Boston University. Following an inspiring visit to San Francisco’s North Beach district (where he met Jim Coyle). He plays regular gigs at The No Name Bar in Sausalito, Enrico’s in San Francisco and other venues around the Bay Area with the talented Big Money Dixieland Jazz Band.
“It’s really special to able to give to people and to be a part of it yourself. It’s almost mystical the way you can bring entertainment to people.

One of the Peninsula’s Premier Fall Festivals, the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce’s Art & Wine Faire celebrates its 19th year on October 10 & 11th. The Faire covers both sides of San Carlos Avenue (between El Camino and Walnut) and down Laurel Street from San Carlos Avenue to Arroyo. This Faire would not be possible without the great support of our sponsors. (list of presenting sponsors.) With so many sponsores, please click on the link to see them all. See you there! This is my favorite time of year and festival.

It’s that time of year again. The festival opens on October 2nd from 3-9, on October 3rd (Sat.) 2-9 with a Pasta Dinner and Sunday, Oct. 4th from 1-4…. You still have time to register for volunteering.

The 1870 Art Center is a cultural resource for the community. It provides working studios for professional artists and has an established art gallery. Exhibits in the Gallery include works of member artists as well as work by outstanding artists from throughout the country.
This is definitely a great time to visit the art gallery.
They frequently open their studios to the public. The annual Fall Open Studios occur in October or November. During the weekends visitors are welcome to meet the artists, discuss the processes and purchase original works of art from their creators.

A new restaurant opening this Fall at Siskin’s. Great location for all of us that like walking to a restaurant and across the street from Bianchini’s Market.
Shiki Bistro at www.shikirestuarants.com for more information. A Sushi Bar and Grill…
Does anyone know if San Carlos is the city with the most new restaurants. I know Redwood City has had openings. Does anyone know?
