The “Wild Brew Yonder” allows visitors to experience the excitement of “Vertical Challenge” but in a much more intimate setting. Sample beer from the top microbreweries in the Bay Area while enjoying a BBQ dinner and watching the best helicopter performers in the world. This is a unique experience that you can’t find anywhere else! A very fun event!

Cell Phone Going Public, Protect Yourself.

June 10, 2009

Ok, I just had to share this….

REMEMBER:  Cell Phone Numbers Go Public next month.

REMINDER…. all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.   …….. YOU WILL  BE CHARGED FOR THE CALLS.  Even if the message is saved on your phone, you will be charged for the minutes to listen to it.

To prevent this, call the following  number from your cell phone:     888-382-1222 .
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.   You  must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked.   You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS… It takes about 20  seconds.

Running for San Carlos School Board Tonight.

June 9, 2009

San Carlos School Board
Candidate Information Night
Tonight 8 PM
Central Library

Do you have any interest in knowing what it’s like to be a School Board member in San Carlos, or what’s the process for running for office?  This November there will be an election for three of the five seats on the School Board.  Current school board members are hosting this very informal public board meeting to explain the process of running as well answer any questions about campaigning or serving on the school board.

All are welcome — whether you’re a serious candidate for school board now or in the future, or just want to learn more about how it all works.  I encourage you to attend this meeting on tonight at 8pm in the Central Middle School Library

Historical Lathrop House

Lathrop Historical Home

Lathrop Historical Home

Lathrop House is located in the center of Redwood City’s downtown area at 627 Hamilton Avenue, behind the old Domed Courthouse and opposite the Hall of Justice which is built on the site of “California Square” – a Spanish plaza style park – deeded to the citizens of Redwood City in perpetuity by the original landholders; the Arguello family and Mezes family.

One of the Peninsula’s oldest mansions, Lathrop House is an architectural treasure built in 1863 by San Mateo County’s first assessor-clerk-recorder and chairman of the Board of Supervisors, a man who later helped found the Southern Pacific Railroad and owner of a large tract of land in the Menlo Park area
