Evening of Music in RWC

May 26, 2009

Rodeo House plays primarily contemporary music of the country genre, and brings a nice blend of old time country and western, and bawdy blues together that makes for a great show! The members of the Rodeo House don’t just play music, they entertain and have fun! This flows over to the guests watching the band and they can’t help but to get up and dance, laugh, and have a good time.

On the courthouse steps, Friday evening from 6-8 on the 29th. Enjoy, hope to see you there!

Woodside Store Historical Home

May 22, 2009

I found out about this historical store when my daughter was in Grade School and went on a field trip here. Very fun.  Dr. Tripp and Mathias Parkhurst built the Woodside Store in 1854. Customers included loggers chopping down the redwoods. Dr. Tripp sold everything ffrom work books and ax handles to flour and ham. Later the farmers came and used it as a county store and post office until 1909.

It is a great place for a field trip. It is free. 650-851-7615 for more information.Woodside Store

Belmont Wins Award for Best City

May 21, 2009

The City of Belmont was recently ranked by Forbes.com as the #11 of America’s top 25 towns. The article stated Belmont’s strongest characteristic as the growing number of businesses saying that, “Belmont residents may not have as much cash on hand as their northern neighbors in Hillsborough, but there are far more businesses emerging there.   Belmont is a quiet town, centralized in the heart of the Bay Area, with open spaces to explore and enjoy, and a wealth of educational choices for children and adults.  Belmont represents a wholesome place to live, work, and raise a family.”  Congratulations Belmont!
