All New Homeowners
April 30, 2009
Hi all,
This is great for new homeowners and anyone wanting to fix anything up to snuff. I do have several free parking tickets if anyone is interested. Please let me know ASAP and I will get one to you. They have different topics all during the day. A worthwhile event for all. I will be there and I hope to see you. I know this is in San Mateo at the Fairgrounds, but us RSB folks will just have to live with that one.

Earth Day in Belmont
April 20, 2009
This year, Belmont is celebrating Earth Day for an entire week! To kick things off, we’re doing a series of energizing and inspiring community improvement projects starting on Sunday, April 19 and finishing on Friday, April 24. Organize your friends and family and come join us!
Then on Saturday, April 25, get out your bicycle or walking shoes and join your neighbors at our first Earth Day festival from 10 am to 3pm at Barrett Community Center in Belmont. The festival will be fun for the whole family, with interactive activities, hands-on demonstrations, and lively presentations to help you reduce, reuse, recycle and save energy and water at home, in school and in the community.
You will discover:
• Fun, “hands-on” activities for kids and adults
• Helpful talks and interactive demonstrations
• Attendees can swap edible and ornamental plants at the “plant exchange”
• Great ideas and valuable giveaways from local green businesses and nonprofits
• Tasty organic food
Before you leave, make a pledge to “go greener” in one aspect of your life by adding your personal touch to our community commitment mural. The mural will remain on display locally for a few weeks, then we’ll pack it up and send it to President Obama.
Admission is free! Come to Barrett Community Center off Ralston Ave at 1870 Ralston Ave. Everyone is encouraged to walk, ride their bicycle, or carpool, as parking is limited. (If you ride your bike or walk from home you’ll get a special gift!) For questions contact Erica Spacher at the Belmont Parks & Recreation Department: (650) 595-7441 or espacher@belmont.gov.
